Access, accommodation and parkingThe regatta is being held at Keynes Country Park, which is part of the Cotswold Water Park in the triangle between Cirencester to the north, Swindon to the east and Malmesbury to the west ( see map ) . Recommended access for trailers is via the A419 Cirencester to Swindon road. Turn west at the junction with the B4696, jink at the junction and turn right into Spratsgate Lane. Keynes Country Park is then immediately on your right; it is well signposted within the Cotswold Water Park. There is a campsite available; if you want to camp you need to book separately through website address. The charge of £5 per head per night gives you access to showers, changing rooms and toilets in the site’s main building. If you want to use the campsite you need to book online at the following address: To get into the camp site, turn right immediately after entering the main gate of the site. Please camp at the south end of the field as on the Sunday we shall be using it as a car park. Trailers should enter through the main gate, pull forward and then reverse northwards and park along the west boundary of the site. This will be signposted and marshalled on the day. Cars without trailers should enter through the main gate, turn right into the camping field and park as requested. Site facilities and cateringThere will be toilets on site and a changing tent for competitors. The only showers available are those for casualties and campers – see above. There will be catering on the headland. (changed recently) This is a multi-sport site with no history of vandalism or theft. A consequence of this is that competitors might find equipment belonging to others e.g. kayaks sailing boat hulls etc on the site. Please be careful not to damage anything and please take your litter home. There is a good footpath all round the lake; the round trip is 1.5 miles. |
